Overview
With over 23 years of legal representation to clients, Ted has advised in connection with complex transactions at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, Richards, Kibbe & Orbe, McKee Nelson and Dentons US. He has also supported in-house legal teams at various boldface names in the global financial sector, including Morgan Stanley, Blackstone and UBS.
Since setting up his own legal practice, Ted has undertaken hundreds of engagements for clients located around the world. He represents individuals, early stage and mature companies, funds, asset and financial managers, global banks and financial institutions, investors, founders, boards of directors, human resources departments, prospective and departing employees and contractors as well as other key stakeholders and corporate constituencies.
Ted’s representations have seen him engage with clients in a variety of sectors, including real estate, financial services, investments, ecommerce, energy, social media, life sciences, distributed ledger, health care, restaurant, technology, medical devices, robotics, AI, online gaming, advisory, brokerage and professional services.
Today, Ted combines capabilities in areas like equity arrangements, business entity and corporate formations and governance, lending, securities and other financing transactions, commercial legal agreements, employment-related contracts, business purchases and cross border matters and outside general counsel services with a broad strategic vision to assist clients realize their business objectives.
Ted earned a B.A. in political science and history from Duke University in 1993 and his J.D. from Yale Law School in 1998. Before law school, he studied in the Southern African nation of Namibia on a Fulbright scholarship, analyzing the work of the United Nations in that country’s independence process and contributing to a number of democratic governance initiatives.
